LAOFAC welcomes all Juniors! We have a popular Twiglets club that is run each week by one of the coaches, and many of the Juniors take part in county and local competitions.
Well done to the LAOFAC Juniors who won the 2015 Copson Cup!
When can Juniors Shoot?
Juniors must always be accompanied by a qualified adult archer i.e. any adult member of the club, or one of the coaches.
- Twiglets club – click here for more details
- During the winter – Saturday morning indoor sessions at Brockington College. A coach will be available to supervise.
- Anytime at the LAOFAC field so long as they are supervised by a qualified archer.
What rounds should they shoot?
The most popular indoor rounds for Juniors are:
- L&R 300 – click here for details on this round
However, Juniors can shoot any indoor round as the distances don’t (usually) go beyond 20 yards.
Keep your eye on the Junior Shoots page for upcoming events.
Parents – these events are usually advertised on Facebook before they appear on here, so we advise joining the closed group: ‘Leicester Ancient Order of Foresters Archery Club’.
Shooting for the County
If you enjoy shooting and become good enough, then you may be invited to join the Junior Development Squad (JeDiS), or even the county team. Some of you may feel that you wouldn’t be good enough to make this level, but the team gains new members every year and the next one COULD BE YOU…
Further details can be found on the county website (L&RCAA – Leicestershire and Rutland County Archery Association).
